The list of neat
things to do and places to see out here on the Olympic Peninsula is
almost endless.
Native American Villages along the coast provide visitors with a window into
the ancient history of the Pacific Northwest's great tribal cultures, unique
in their geographically close proximity to each other but yet so very
diverse in each of their own tribal customs and languages.
The spectacular coastal beaches between Neah Bay and Kalaloch are Part of
the National Parks System and the offshore area is a Marine sanctuary
hosting a
wide variety of marine mammals and fishes. Grey Whales, Stellar Sea-Lions
and Sea Otters all call this area home or use it for forage or passage in
their annual migrations.
Sea kayaking, Surfing, deep sea or river fishing, clamming, hiking to secluded beaches
or just picnicking on the beach and soaking up the sights and sounds of the
Pacific Ocean are all readily available activities.
Other activities that
might be of interest and enhance your visit would include wildlife viewing,
bird watching (some of the best in the USA), photography, scenic or white
water river tours, touring interpretative centers, biking, camping, berry
picking and mushrooming.
As you can see the list of fun stuff to do here on
the Olympic Peninsula really is almost endless. |
